Here’s a band I was pretty quick to get hooked on, ARCTIC FLOWERS from Portland, Oregon. Normally I’m not so into the melodic peace punk type bands, but the songs themselves just hooked right into my brain and refuse to let go. Fuck it, why fight it, right? This was one of those situations where during the time of listening to their demo and EP pretty much non-stop, I saw they had a show coming up very soon. Perfect! So of course I was right up front to get the show on tape. Pardon the fact that the audio starts right away, but it took me about another minute to get the video camera set up, so the screen is black for that time. The first song itself is dark, I switched it to the nightshot mode for the second song and the remainder of the set. I missed their next couple bay area shows unfortunately, but I’m still trying to catch them live again. They’ve since released an LP that is fantastic and I’m determined to see those songs performed live, dammit. However, I’m glad I made it to this show and got this moment on tape and can share it here for everyone. Make sure to watch this, and watch it at full volume. Rock the fuck out!
